I'm pleased to share with you:
The long-term vision for Lingopolo.
I'm pleased to announce that you can now see the level that any word or phrase has reached and you can also reset that level.
You may know from FAQ about levels for the words and phrases that as you get to know words and phrases better (as shown by getting questions right) they are moved to higher and higher levels, and so are gradually asked less and less frequently.
One of the features which has been working for a while now, but which I haven't yet blogged about, is the "Play Slow" button (represented by a tortoise icon) and the "Play All" button (represented by the stack of 3 lines with a little play button in the corner).
The Lingopolo campaign on the crowdfunding site Kickstarter has now finished. Unfortunately, it did not get anywhere near reaching the funding goal I set for it. I have many theories as to why that was the case: the principal one, I think, was overly ambitious target, with too few people already knowing about Lingopolo.
I'm excited to announce that today Lingopolo launched a Kickstarter campaign, to try and make Lingopolo available for EVERY language!

If you are doing a lot of questions and quizzes, you will probably have noticed that there is a little ping sound which plays when you reach a high score.
I'm pleased to say that now, if you would like, you can turn off this sound.
You will find this in your profile, when you click on My account. There is a checkbox where you can choose whether the sound is on or off:
We have made a slight change to the design of the home page, replacing the previous image (of fingers on a keyboard) with the flag of the language. We thought that the flag represents more closely the site language-learning goal.
Here is the new design for the Thai login page:
The old design, for contrast, is shown below:
Lingopolo has just completed a hugely-complex migration from the old software platform (Drupal 7) to a new one (Drupal 8).
I don't normally talk about technical things going on in the background in these blog posts, as I like to focus on the changes which directly improve the language-learning functionality.
However, today I wish to make an exception.
I'm pleased to announce that the Lesson Quiz type which you select will now be remembered and used until you change it again.
The quiz type is set in the Lesson Quiz tab. What this means is that if, for example, you select to do the Reading quizzes, all the quizzes will be Reading quizzes until you select something else.
